- Weagree with the Special Rapporteur on critical importanceof Sustainable Development Goal four (inclusive and equitable quality education) and the need to work both nationally as well as internationally for its fulfilment.
- The government of Prime Minister Imran Khan has prioritized to ensure access to education to all children in the educational fold. As a first step towards the fulfilmentthis priority, the Government announced ‘National Education Policy Framework 2018’ which laid down a uniform system of education, uniform syllabus, standardized education services to ensure common standards of teaching and learning, and multi-language proficiency.
- We request the Special Rapporteur to elaborate howinternational partnerships for teacher training, capacity-building at the public administration level, support services for schools can be helpful to the developing countries with severe resource constraints.
- Pakistan has seen the report of the Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial summary execution. We regret the killing of Jamal Khashoggi. We note that the judicial proceedings are on-going in Saudi Arabia. We also take note of the Turkish statement on the report as well as assurances provided by Government of Saudi Arabia to serve the cause of justice by holding the perpetrators accountable. Pakistan hopes that both brotherly countries will be able to jointly address the matter.
I thank you.
